bash shell exiting abruptly in case of multiple sessions of shell file?
I have a shell file which is polling a variable through a while loop and performs some action when the variable is set to 0.(Note: This variable is passed from sqlplus). Also this shell file is executed by a dbms scheduler. This scheduler is called by a Oracle pl/sql procedure in turn called by a trigger. When I send only two requests, everything happens normally, first request gets addressed while second one keeps polling the variable and gets its turn only when first request is completed and variable is set to 0. However, when I send three or more requests, first two requests perform normally while the third request and so on exit abruptly. The log in the dbms scheduler also shows status for this third request as "SUCCEEDED". I am also logging the output for each request to a text file. The log for third request just shows that it has waited its turn only for the first iteration of while loop and then exited. Note that I have performed this several times and the pattern is same. Why is this happening?
