How to get IR camera to work on Linux?
I have an ASUS Q524UQK laptop with integrated Realtek IR camera and it doesn't work on Linux Ubuntu 16.04.5. I was looking on net for drivers but found nothing. lsusb
and lspci
outputs doesn't show this camera, only simple one:
Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 8087:0a2b Intel Corp.
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 03eb:8ab3 Atmel Corp.

01:00.0 3D controller: NVIDIA Corporation Device 179c (rev a2)
02:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 8260 (rev 3a)
Note the moment that 04f2:b59c is simple camera (not IR) and it works properly. I just have suspicious that it's a 2-in-1 module, because they have similar (not exactly this because of sequence of parts in module) products. Lookup on their website: http://www.chicony.com.tw/products_detail.php?id=QCUlXiQjMTExQCUlXiQj
Also, I have Windows driver, maybe I can adapt it for Linux somehow?
