Is it legal to use nmap in public networks?
I'm studying web configuration using debian based system and stumbled upon nmap software while looking up information about securing my OS.
Multiple instruction videos advice to act in legal parameters. So I wan't to ask just to be sure, is it illegal to scan public networks? Does this depend on the country you're living in?
