MediaWiki doesn't recognize SSL certificate created with Let'sEncrypt bot

-1

I use a shared CentOS server environment with Apache (with Nginx as reverse proxy), PHP and MySQL.

I've pointed DNS servers to my hosting provider and created a MediaWiki directory named as the domain of my website; I also created an SSL certificate by a Let'sEncrypt bot available in Cpanel and no errors were given in the process.

I then went to to https://example.com aiming to install MediaWiki, but then I saw the connection is unsecured:

Using server name "http://example.com".
Using server URL "http://example.com".

Seems MediaWiki doesn't recognize the SSL certificate and secure HTTP connection. I find no documentation on this.

Why is the SSL certificate and the secured HTTP connection not recognized by MediaWiki?

  • If it matters, the hosting provider is SiteGround.
