Socket interface for ZigBee

0

I have successfully used unix sockets for WiFi and Bluetooth, which I feel is very intuitive when it comes to reusing functions such as fprintf, write and read. Is it possible to access ZigBee through a similar interface? And if no, by what means should we access it? I am planning to use this in my RPi with Arch Linux running and I am using C language for socket programming.
