u-boot FIT image signing in dtb
Creating a dtb to attach to u-boot that has public keys to verify a signed FIT image is a 2 step process:
1) dtc u-boot_pubkey.dts -O dtb -o u-boot_pubkey.dtb
2) tools/mkimage -f fitImage.its -K u-boot_pubkey.dtb -k /path/to/keys -r fitImage
After each step the u-boot_pubkey.dtb grows in size.
Why is this the case? Can't the public keys be embedded in the dtb before signing the FIT image? This makes me think the dtb is not reuseable the next time a FIT image is signed.
The above steps were taken from https://elinux.org/images/e/e0/Josserand-schulz-secure-boot.pdf
and do indeed work
Any insight would be helpful.
