ヴァルティー・エアクラフト（Vultee Aircraft Corp. ）は、1931年から1943年まで存在したアメリカ合衆国の航空機メーカーである。1943年、コンソリデーテッド・エアクラフト社と合併して、コンヴェア社になった。



歴史


創業者であるジェラルド・ヴァルティーは飛行機設計者で、ダグラス・エアクラフト社で働いたのちにロッキード社に移り、1928年にはロッキード社の主任設計者になった。ロッキード社ではシリウスなどを設計したが、1929年にロッキード社が破綻した為1930年にロッキード社を離れて、1931年スティンソン・エアクラフト、ライカミングなどの航空機メーカーや自動車会社を所有する資本家エレット・コード (Errett Lobban Cord) の援助を受けて航空機開発株式会社（Airplane Development Corp.）という新しい会社を仲間と立ち上げて主任設計者となった。その後1936年に、ヴァルティー航空機製造株式会社（Vultee Aircraft Division of the Airplane Manufacturing Corp.）と社名を改称し社長となった。
1938年1月、ヴァルティー夫妻は航空機事故で死亡してしまうが、社名はそのままとなり、1940年スティンソン社と合併してスティンソンのブランドも使用できるようになるとともに、ヴァルティー・エアクラフト株式会社（ヴァルティー航空機株式会社、Vultee Aircraft Inc.）と改称した。1943年に、B-24リベレーター爆撃機などで知られるコンソリデーテッド社と合併する。


BT-13ヴァリアント練習機やP-66ヴァンガード戦闘機などが制式採用された製品として知られている。

Boot-repair Failure: Unable to locate package grub-common:i386

0 I am on a system dual-booting Windows and Debian (usually using the latter), and a recent Windows update appears to have wreaked havoc on the Debian boot system. I managed to boot Windows again, but not Linux. Following online suggestions, I created a Live USB of Ubuntu, and booted from that. Then I have installed and run the boot-repair utility. The utility instructs me to type several lines including sudo chroot "/mnt/boot-sav/sda6" apt-get purge -y grub*-common grub-common:i386 To which I receive the error E: Unable to locate package grub-common:i386 I am given to understand the issue may have to do with having UEFI vs BIOS (I believe I have UEFI), but do not understand this well.
