mbsync “unable to get issuer certificate” error
I am currently using Mutt to access my corporate mail via imap. I'm trying to download my email using isync/mbsync so that I can index and search them using notmuch, however mbsync gives me a certificate error when trying to connect to the server.
All I needed for mutt to work was to set "imap_user" and "imap_pass" correctly in muttrc. Mutt downloaded the certificates from the server automatically and stored them in ~/.mutt_certificates.
I tried pointing isync to the mutt certificate file as well as manually downloading them using openssl and neither configs worked. My mbsyncrc file has the following:
IMAPAccount corp
Host imapmail.corp.com
User user
Pass passwd
AuthMechs LOGIN
SSLType IMAPS
CertificateFile ~/.mutt_certificates
When I run mbsync I get the following error:
SSL error connecting imapmail.corp.com (XX.XX.XX.XXX:993): unable to get issuer certificate
If mutt is able successfully connect to the server I would expect to be able to get mbsync to work. Does anyone here know how to force mbsync to ignore the SSL errors?
openssl ssl mutt offlineimap
