Network traffic in linux mint - Unusual high sent data?

0

On linux mint 19.1 cinnamon my sent data (checked with system monitor) seems unusually high to me.
For every 10 MB of data recieved, about 1 MB of data is sent.
On w10, which i used before linux, only about every 100 MB of data recieved, 1 MB of data was sent.
On both systems i was/am using firefox.

Is this "normal" behaviour for linux, or might this be a sign that i either have some unwelcome processes running in the background, or that my system has been somehow infected with malware?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
